DAMN RAKE is Tanel Rander's insight into his subjectivity, based on performative research that he made during 2023 in Berlin.The research brings together Estonian colonial history, folklore and the artist's subjectivity. Rander is rather interested in the ways how he relates to history, than history itself. Although, it is very possible that history plays a great role in the formation of his subjectivity. Here the metaphor of the rake appears, present in many cultures, representing the return of the hidden, the unconscious.
