The way from to  are works created through a combination of performance, video documentation and printmaking techniques at different locations. The exhibition presents the results of a three-day micro-residency in Nova Gorica.

The project examines the individual’s place in space and the imaginary and physical traces left by movement. The artist combines oblivion and memory on a physical medium, created through the ritualized act of walking, which leaves an imaginary trace while simultaneously recording historically conditioned lines in space. The path symbolically runs along a border: an imaginary line that is invisible unless drawn on a map. The work explores new ways of using the medium of printmaking and tests the capacities of both the medium and the material. The matrix and the print are no longer just vehicles for the image, they also become vehicles for time, space and the individual within it.

Tamara Mihalič (1995, Koper) graduated in video and new media from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, where she is currently completing her MA studies. She is active in the art scene in her hometown of Piran, where she has exhibited at the Obzidje Festival, Piran Ex-tempore, Monfort Exhibition Centre and Faro Gallery. In Ljubljana, she has exhibited her work at the Light Guerrilla Festival, Jakopič Gallery, Independent Film Festival and Cukrarna Palace.

Her artistic practice combines various media, examining her own experiences within the context of current social issues, which she examines and subverts through humorous gestures.
