About us
Carinarnica operates under Društvo humanistov Goriške - The Humanist Association of Goriška, an organization that brings together individuals interested in contemporary social phenomena, philosophy, history, and art in the cross-border Goriška region. The term "humanist" here refers to those who ponder questions about human nature and society without a strict focus on the academic humanities. The association, with its project, aims to reflect the contemporary world by fostering in-depth discussions, developing theory, literature, and contemporary art that would serve the local territory as a point of self-reflection and communal development.

Our projects
City of Books is the largest literary event in the Primorska region, held three times a year in Nova Gorica: in June at the City Municipality atrium, in September across public spaces with a book fair, and in December featuring a festive book fair. Organized by the Goriška Humanists Association since 2016, the festival is co-financed by the City Municipality of Nova Gorica and the Public Book Agency of Slovenia.
Razpotja magazine serves as a public space for diverse viewpoints, fostering open and thoughtful discussions on contemporary issues often overlooked. Each quarterly issue focuses on a broad topic, explored from various perspectives. Contributions are welcomed through an open call published on the website and in the. The magazine features in-depth articles on social and cultural matters that influence our daily lives.
